Toothless tigers?

Even when Tony Blair was at his most popular the Labour Party only held 10 of the 61 seats on North Somerset Council.
Today they only have three of the 61 seats on the council.
They have never even been close to running the council on their own and their share of the vote has been going down in Weston for many years.
There are parts of Weston that have returned Labour Councillors for half a century, yet these areas remain amongst the most deprived in the region.
What is the point of Weston’s Labour party if it doesn’t even bother to stand up for the people who vote for them at every election?
• The last time South Worle had a Labour Councillor he defected to the Tories anyway.
